Scholarship Description
INSEAD, and the Greendale Foundation, have partnered to offer the INSEAD Greendale Foundation Scholarship to disadvantaged Southern and East Africans who wish to pursue an MBA programme at the prestigious INSEAD Business School (the INSEAD MBA programme).
The Trustees of the Greendale Foundation wish to provide access to the INSEAD MBA programme to disadvantaged Southern and East Africans who are committed to developing international management expertise in Africa and who plan their careers in the Southern and East African regions.
Scholarship recipients must return to work in these African regions within 3 years of graduation; in the event this condition is not met, the recipients will be asked by INSEAD to refund their scholarship within the fourth year after completion of the MBA Programme.
Eligibility
Candidates must be nationals from Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa (disadvantaged backgrounds), Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia or Zimbabwe (from disadvantaged backgrounds)who have undergone the major part of their education in Southern or East Africa.
Selection Criteria:
Preference will be given to those who have worked in the above-mentioned countries prior to INSEAD. The candidate's financial situation will also be taken into consideration.

To be considered for the INSEAD Greendale Foundation Scholarship, complete the appropriate scholarship application (found on the official website). In addition, you are to complete and submit essays as described below.
ESSAY TOPIC:
1). In 350-400 words describe (a) why you wish to undertake the INSEAD MBA (b) how you envisage contributing to the future development of Southern or East Africa after graduation, and (c) why you should be selected for this scholarship.
2). In 150-200 words provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year at INSEAD (details of income set against all expenditures).

DEADLINES:
Submission of applications is for two classes - July class (starts in September) and December class (starts in January). Each of these classes have three application rounds, and deadline dates are as below.
For July 2019 class, Round 1 applications OPEN 23 October 2017 and CLOSE 6 November 2017; Round 2 applications OPEN 15 January 2018 and CLOSE 29 January 2018; and Round 3 applications OPEN 5 March 2018 and close 19 March 2018.
For December 19 Class, Round 1 application OPENS 23 April 2018 and CLOSE 7 May 2018; Round 2 applications OPEN 11 June 2018 and CLOSE 25 June 2018; while Round 3 OPENS 30 July 2018 and CLOSES 13 August 2018.
