Scholarship Description
The University of Pavia (UNIPV) and the Institute for the Right to University Studies (EDiSU) are offering the 2019 CICOPS Scholarships for Developing Country's scholars in order to promote international cooperation, particularly with Developing Countries.
The scholarships will cover travel, board, lodging and spending money; and are available for both anabawang and senior members of universities in Developing Countries or members of major research centers and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies.
The CICOPS Scholarships are now being accepted for 2019. Students, academics and other researchers from developing countries who wish to carry out research in collaboration with a professor at the University of Pavia are welcome to apply.
Eligibility
The scholarships are designed for both anabawang and senior members of universities in Developing Countries or members of major research centers and international organizations with specific interetes in the field of development studies.
Applicants must have at least two years of either teaching experience or activity in international organisations and institution.
CICOPS scholarships are foreseen for research collaboration in the short period (see below) in order to encourage the mobility of researcher from developing countries. Applicants enrolled in a Doctoral or Postgraduate Course at an Italian University are not eligible to apply.

Ten (10) scholarships are granted yearly by UNIPV and EDiSU for the visiting scholars. As of 2018, about 211 scholarships had been awarded to academics from more than 58 different countries to carry out research in Pavia.
Sponsorship duration
A short period of between 4 to 12 weeks stay at UNIPV
Scholarship benefits
Each scholarship includes and covers travel (economy class), board and lodging expenses and a pocket money of 150.00 Euro (gross) per week.
Method of Application
To apply, please fill out the online application form found on the official web site (link is below). Together with the online form, applicants must send requested documents to CICOPS. Applications must be supported by a formal letter of invitation from a collaborator/teacher at the University of Pavia. Without a formal invitation from a collaborator at the University of Pavia your application will not be taken into consideration.

In 1996, the Technical-Scientific Committee of CICOPS approved a scholarship project aimed at fostering research collaboration between academic from Developing Countries and the University of Pavia. The scholarships were designed for both anabawang and senior members of universities in Developing Countries or members of major research centers and international organizations with specific interetes in the field of development studies.
Since 1998, the University of Pavia (UNIPV) and the Institute for University Studies (EDiSU) have offered about ten scholarships yearly for a four to ten week stay in Pavia, during which time the scholars carry out research with professors in the department that hosts them and often hold seminars.
CICOPS was established in 1987 in order to promote cooperation with developing countries and stimulate relations between the University of Pavia and universities in developing countries.
